Get ready to enjoy genuinely sustainable vacations in the “green” soul of Tuscany’s countryside. Cuprena is a charming Eco-Relais which was conceived from its very beginnings as a place where the surrounding nature was going to be respected, protected and safeguarded .
Cuprena’s philosophy is based on sustainability and on energy conservation.
On-grid solar panels and panels for hot water have been installed on the property making the most of solar energy to achieve a naturally “green” and self-sufficient structure. We have installed a geothermal field under our vegetable garden. This natural thermal energy from the ground allows us to easily heat and cool the different bedrooms using their floor. It is a technological innovation that allows us to greatly reduce our impact on the ecosystem.
Cuprena’s farmhouses are made with eco-sustainable building materials, salvaged elements such as ancient stone, natural ones like wood and walls that are whitewashed with lime without the use of industrial chemical paints. Everything that you can find in your bedrooms is conceived, designed and made by local Casentino artisans: beds, closets, headboards, doors painted with citrus wax to create a natural, sustainable and charming setting.

Our production
Our food production follows organic farming principles to achieve a sustainable and high quality cuisine. We take most of the raw materials directly from the crops of the Relais. Here we also produce wine, olive oil and “Vin Santo” abiding by a culture that enriches us all and that brings well-being to the dining table.
You are going be immersed in an exceptional setting when you come to Cuprena. Here you can breath in the fragrances of the past and be enchanted by the charming glimpses of a view, a scent, a detail.
